I covered a little bit of the Dew Tour City Championships during it’s stop in the Bay Area a few months ago. It was pretty wacky as I’m sure most of these things are. It was a mix of Skateboard and BMX contests that ran for the entire weekend, though I only had time to shoot the first heat of the BMX dirt prelims.
Part of the story was that San Francisco Supervisor John Avalos(pink shirt) had raised his concerns over its size and the fact that a private event had taken over a public park leaving only a small portion of the playground still accessible to people that weren’t paying to attend. He, understandably, wasn’t too happy with the huge mound of dirt directly in front of City Hall either!
