I shot my first assignment here in Oakland for the East Bay Express weekly paper. It was about the popular Oakland Farmer’s Markets and raised the question of how local they actually are and how they effect businesses in the area. Pretty much every aspect of this shoot fell through, people not being in town or available, weather not cooperating, so it was a scramble to produce anything at all.
Below is the owner of the Grand Lake Theater who says his business is negatively effected by the Grand Lake Farmer’s Market on Saturdays. I had 5 minutes to shoot him in front of the theater and it was raining and it didn’t make the cut.
