The Tampa Bay Rays played the Boston Redsox for the first time during spring training and so it was also the first time that former Rays left fielder Carl Crawford faced his old team after landing in Boston after a big off-season trade. Though he was greeted with a mix of cheers and boos I think most of the crowd knew that he had grown beyond the salary confines of Tampa and didn’t seem to hold it against him. He had a couple good plays including a diving catch on a sinking line drive that I was lucky enough to be in the left field stands to get a shot of. Cool.
