Drawing a Line in the Sand

Hands Across the Sand protest against off shore drilling and the BP spill.  These photos were taken at Englewood beach but this was an international event and one of the organizers said there was even one in Arkansas for some reason.  The one I went to was a little lack luster.  People only held hands for a minute or two and then kinda milled about talking and swimming or just left entirely.  Everyone was supposed to hold hands for 15 minutes but I guess that was asking too much.  It was cool, though, to see people that were at the beach already and not part of the protest get inspired and join in.  You can learn more and see better photos at: http://www.handsacrossthesand.com
