Presente Action
January 28, 2012
I shot a quick portrait of Robert Lovato, who is co-founder and strategist for Presente Action, at their Berkeley offices for the SF Chronicle. Presente Action is kind of like the “Latino MoveOn.org”, or at least that’s how Roberto explained it to me. They were gearing up for a campaign against Florida Senator Marco Rubio, a Tea Party favorite and GOP vice presidential candidate, whom they say opposes key immigration reform issues that effect Latinos.
I went in thinking “Environmental Portrait”, but they were in the middle of moving offices so there wasn’t really anything that gave the photos much context, just a few desks and computers in a bare walled standard office space so I just focused, as it were, on Roberto.
